Nuclear Power Plant

Nuclear Power plants use the same fission reaction used to make a bomb. With the insertion of fuel rods neutrons are absorbed so that they do not participate in the chain reaction. If the rods are removed even part way the chain reaction will start back up until the rods are replaced all the way again. So the Uranium 235 atoms are still broken apart to produce heat but it is cooled down by water which creates the steam that you see. This steam is what turns the turbine and this turbine is what generates electricty that we use.
